IK Skeleton

I just started playing around with IK and I found this site. Having code to go through and a visual tool to test out limbs has been very helpful in getting my version going. The solver seems to only really be for arms and legs though. How do you do an entire skeleton? I don't need anything super accurate but I would like to be able to give a hand a position and have the skeleton move as it should.

[SlimDX] Random crashes on SetValue(float)

As the title says when letting the program run it will randomly crash on a shader SetValue<float> statement with the very helpful error of 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL: Invalid call (-2005530516)'. Weird thing is I'm setting Vector4, Matrix, and SetTexture() calls before the float and it doesn't crash on them. If I set a float in the entity rendering function it will crash pretty fast. If I set a float in the main render loop most of the time it will take much longer. The rendering itself works fine and renders properly just get the random crash. Any ideas on why it wants to crash on setting a float? I'm using the March 2009 SDK and all the shader stuff is for SM 2.0. *edit* Sorry, can't seem to have the angle brackets in the title to a message.

Dlls and Win 7

Trying to move some of my code out to dlls for easier reuse. I am setting up the dlls in code like this:
    #define DLL_API __declspec(dllexport)
    #define DLL_API __declspec(dllimport)

extern "C" DLL_API void Test(int x)
And of course the define is set for the dll code and not for the other code. This works fine in XP but in Win 7 the error "...has stopped working, searching intenet for fix..." is given. If I go back to static link it works in Win 7. I really have no clue if there are coding standards for Win 7 so I might be missing something obvious. But are there any suggestions to this problem?

[SlimDX] Invalid call

I get random errors of 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL: Invalid call (-2005530516)' just letting the program sit idle or sometimes when minimizing or maximizing the window. The break always seems to be setting a parameter to the shader. I am handling lost devices and have set a breakpoint there but its never been triggered. I also get 'An unhandled exception of type 'SlimDX.Direct3D9.Direct3D9Exception' occurred in SlimDX.dll' in the output window when it crashes. As far as I can tell the shader is still valid when it crashes so I don't know what might be the problem.

[HLSL] Color Cycling

Trying to setup a post process shader to cycle the screen colors in a psychedelic trippy way. Trying to use something like sin() and a changing input to make them cycle but it just makes the screen go from white to regular to black and back. How can I modify the output colors to create an effect like this?
