C# - Problem moving process window

30 July 2011 - 03:38 PM

Hello! I'm trying to move the window of a process I create in my windows forms application. Here is my code:

[DllImport("user32.dll", SetLastError = true)]
private static extern bool MoveWindow(IntPtr hWnd, int X, int Y, int nWidth, int nHeight, bool bRepaint);
         helpProcess = new Process();
                helpProcess.StartInfo.FileName = "Help\\help.chm";
                helpProcess.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Normal;

                MoveWindow(helpProcess.MainWindowHandle, 600, 600, 100, 100, true);

Thank you!

Application support for special characters

18 April 2011 - 02:23 PM

Hello! I have an application with a lot of win32 controls, like text fields. The application uses the Multi-Byte character set (I'm using Visual Studio 2008). Can I add support for characters like ă â î ş ș ţ ț without switching to Unicode? I would like to be able to display labels with these characters, as well as have the user type these kinds of characters in the text field and see the correct result (at the current time if I try to write one of the characters in one of the text fields I get strange garbage characters).
Oh ... I forgot to mention that I'm using C++.

Thank you.

std :: vector problem

05 August 2009 - 01:09 AM

Hello ... Texture* texture = new Texture(); vector <Texture> textures; textures.push_back((*texture)); delete texture; This code results in a memory leak ... and I don't quite understand why ? How does vector's destructor work ? Does the destructor call the clear() method ? Also on this line textures.push_back((*texture)); does the vector make its own copy of the texture object ? Thanks ...

Visual C++ questions

30 July 2009 - 03:19 AM

Hello to all ! I have a few questions regarding Visual C++ 2008. Is there any way to make the names of user-defined classes appear in blue in the editor like the C++ keywords (like int for example) ? Also I've noticed that Intellisense has a Complete Word feature . However you have to toggle it whenever you want to use it. Is there any option to make this option permanent ? I mean like in Visual C#(I think it's called code completion).

ID3DXSprite question

22 July 2009 - 03:15 AM

Hello ... I'm using ID3DXSprite to draw all my textures/sprites.I know that this is not the best method but I'll stick with it for now. So without drawing anything on the screen I get ~1200 FPS.When I draw a 1024x768 texture the FPS falls at around 600 FPS.Is this behaviour normal or am I doing something wrong ? Another thing : If I draw the same texture twice the FPS I get is around 180. However , I if draw the texture three or four times the FPS rises at about 250. Can someone explain to me how can this be ? I have also tried rendering small textures and drawing a 64 by 64 texture 2500 times I get at 300 FPS.Is this good ? With 10000 32x32 textures I get at 60 FPS. Thanks in advance...
