Topics I've Started

OGRE Bicycles

16 December 2014 - 11:18 PM

Some dude at work tried to get me to buy one of these. He said a friend of his that works at a bike shop would make me a price - $1600. That's stupid to pay that much for a bike. Anyways, I was curious so I looked at the bike and, basically, it looks like a touring bike which is what I like but I go offroad A LOT. Man when I get riding I go in creek beds, rivers, across frozen lakes, up steep rocky hills in forests, over logs, in mud, etc. Anyways, not even a simple suspension fork - nothing at all and the frame is bent - I mean look at the weird shape.

Has anyone ridden one of these bikes? If so how does it handle offroad? I don't go for long rides - 10 miles most of the time and 32 miles at the most. I ride mostly around parks and rivers.

Need console that can play retro games

16 December 2014 - 08:24 PM

I was talking with some people at work one time and some dude (programmer) told me that there is a system that can play Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega, etc. game cartridges. The reason why I ask is because I'm thinking of opening an online store on FrancoisSoft to sell games but need a universal system to test them on. I could get an NES, SNES, Sega Mastersystem, Sony Playstation... Jesus, do I have to go on! Anyways, has anyone heard of such as system? What is it called? Even one that can play all of the Nintendo games would do. Give me some ideas.

Try my online code editor

This editor is entirely written in javascript but has a number of features like syntax highlighting, code mapping, file management, etc. Current syntax is highlighted for HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Just click on the menu item "Code Bank".

Mobile Arcade

13 December 2014 - 12:33 PM

Here's what I'm trying to do:

Basically, I'm trying to make an arcade site where you pay upfront from Paypal. So the user can go in and buy a month membership to use play games on the arcade console which expires at the end on the month in which the user would have to pay again at the beginning on the month. (I don't do that automatic withdrawl stuff.) Now what happens when the user pays is that their IP address gets added to a database and they can play games. (I have a policy of games running only on one machine at a time to avoid excessive use by having too many people on the account. At the end of the month all IP addresses of people who haven't payed are removed by some cron job.

Here is my question. Does anyone know the Paypal API and how I could interface with it to allow the user to make a payment from my site and then trigger IP address addition to the database?

Need help, please.

FrancoisSoft Radio

13 December 2014 - 12:23 PM

This is a small home project that I did for the front page. Basically, it is an HTML 5 radio with tracks of various games for listening while you code. You can switch track or stop the radio. I used to have a TV but removed it because it uses flash and did not run on my phone. There is an HTML 5 based player coming out but it does not look too developed yet. (Still beta!)
