How to know if your name sucks or not

25 January 2011 - 04:46 PM

One thing that seperates successful developers from non-successful developers is the bad ass-ness if their name.

always apply the term "The guys down at.."
i.e
"the guys down at bungie, or the guys down at epic." to see how the name rings. A common mistake among beginning developers is the lack of making something that sounds cool.

On a more serious note if the name doesn't sound marketable people won't take it seriously thus making it suck. Lol

searching for beginner team

Im currently trying to learn a number of basic platforms to begin my tread in game design. (C, C++, C#, win32 API, and direct X) I have a small amount of knowledge in the C languages and know how to write basic functions and programs.Once I am able to hand code a game (even if its a 256 or 32 bit game)I will then feel confident enough in my skills to progress to 3D platforms and use an engine which handles most of the API libraries. Im looking for a group of others at about my level who would be interested in devolping a project which purpose is to educate us and apply the things we are learning. Im ultimately trying to create a small game development group who can help each other by sharing resources and ideas to create a higher learning and production curve. If anyone is interested in organizing just write me a msg.
