Methodology of developing game

20 October 2010 - 05:40 AM

Hi, guys. I just want to know that is there any book describing the methodology of developing games. I think that game developers prefer agile development. And I really want to have a book about these things.

What's more, I also want to read something about testing of games. Anyone has good advices?

Thank you all!

Need advices for my career planing

30 October 2009 - 09:19 PM

Hi, everyone! Here is the situation. I am a junior student of computer science in Nanjing University, China. And i wanna go to USA for a master's degree. What's more, i am so crazy about playing games and i want to be a game designer in future. So the first question is that in which area should i choose to study if i wanna be a game designer. In my view, i think that software engineering is the most related area. Moreover, it seems that no company will accept a person without any experience in game studio as a game designer. So i have been wondering what if i choose game programmer as my first job in game industry. And as a graduate from computer science, i think this may be an easier way for entering the industry. So, the second question is that how can i plan my career in future years? and what skills should i learn? I have been feeling so confused about those questions and this is time for me to decide my own way. SO i hope anyone here can help me out. Thanks!

How to run a game made by XNA

23 March 2009 - 03:31 AM

Hi,i'm trying to make my first game by XNA, but it turn out that it wasn't able to run without Visual Express, and i don't know how to pack my game to share with my friends. it seems that it can't run unless you open your Visual Express then open the solution and press the F5 button. i am wondering how to make it run independently and hope that anyone can give me some suggestions. Thanks anyway.
