We get it. We use ad blockers too. But GameDev.net needs to display ads in order to continue to be a great platform for you.

Ok, thanks for the tips.
But I want to make the input code separated from the callback function.
And I still have no clue why it causes my program to stall from time to time.

WSAAsyncSelect is evil. I believe the Forum FAQ has a lot of explanations of precisely why. I think you'll have a much easier time of things if you use a different technique for handling your sockets!
