Topics I've Started

21 August 2013 - 11:59 PM

TOT is originally for iOS, a two-player turn-based strategy game that is played on an octagon-shaped board. It's completely different from Othello (Reversi), Checkers, and Chess. Play against the AI or another human in hot-seat style. The new version, TOTu (u for Unity) will be for 2 to 4 players and will have online synchronous multiplayer.

Come on all you gamers out there...

31 January 2013 - 05:20 PM

Come on all you gamers out there. Give Chris your support. This is the guy who made a game so great that I bought a Windows PC just to be able to play it (I was a Mac user then and am again now). That game was the greatest RTS of all time - Total Annihilation. And then he went on to make many other successful games...I have both Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander 2. Anyway I just pledged 20 bucks to kickstart his new game. Go to his Kickstarter page and watch his video...he's in trouble. He's laid off a lot of his staff. His company will go under if his Kickstarter campaign isn't funded. He's only got about $400,000 out of the $1,100,000 goal with only 15 days to go. Give this great game designer your support.

Questions about ECS and OOP MVC.

09 December 2012 - 05:17 PM

1. Is Entity Component System (ECS) considered a part of OOP or is it a completely different concept?

2. Can the Model View Controller design pattern be used with non-OOP coding style, specifically with Entity Component System?

One more day to get The Octagon Theory TableTop for free!

iOS abstract strategy board game TOT TableTop will be free until July 3rd!

25 June 2012 - 07:05 PM

The Octagon Theory is an iOS abstract strategy board game like chess, othello, checkers. While The Octagon Theory can be played by two humans via pass-n-play it is mainly designed for one human to play against the AI. It is a universal version for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

TOT TableTop is an iPad-only version of The Octagon Theory that is mainly designed to be place on a table to be played by two humans. But a human player can play against the AI if another human player isn't available.

The prices of these two games have been changed:

The Octagon Theory: $0.99 -> $1.99.
TOT TableTop: $1.99 -> $0.99.

The reason the prices have been changed is because The Octagon Theory is universal while TOT TableTop is iPad-only, so TOT TableTop should be cheaper.

Also starting now TOT TableTop will be free until July 3rd at which time the price will go back to $0.99.
