Properly Closing a QT Application

06 April 2014 - 11:48 AM

So Im making a QT application and Im trying to figure out how to properly shut it down when the x is clicked. I have a loop running and if the x is clicked the GUI will disappear while but the program keeps running until the loop ends. Calling delete on the object with the loop just stops the loop but doesnt stop the application.

So what is the best with of dealing with shut down. I assume its going to be using the closeEvent slot in some form.

mysql software

19 September 2013 - 08:32 AM

Im about to start using mysql for databases and Im trying to figure out what is some good software to use for database creation and management outside of my actual program. It only has to be on my local machine not online on a server. Im using it with python aswell if that factors into it.

Spot/Circle Light

15 July 2013 - 07:34 AM

I have just started a new game in XNA and I want to add some light effects to the game. Basically Id like a light to centre on the player and only light up what is around the player in a certain radius. The game is a 2d dungeon crawler and top down so the light need only be a circle surrounding the player. So could anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial for this type of lighting. Thanks for any help.

Creating a library

20 June 2013 - 04:09 AM

I am currently trying to create a library for ios development. Im just doing a simple one so far to get it working. Anyway the library is written and I add it into the project and use it. But when I compile Im getting linker errors and warnings.

"file was built for archive which is not the architecture being linked (i386)"

This seems to be the root and I know its something to do with using the simulator. So can anyone help out or point me in the right direction at least.

Hosting test website

13 June 2013 - 02:41 AM

This may be in the wrong place but I figured general could work. I have made a simple web app using .net and I can run it in locally and test that it works. Now I also have made a simple iphone app that I want to interact with it. Is there a way to host the website locally on the mac in order to test it that they can interact with each other.

Apologies if the question isnt clear.
