Trying to merge SFML and BOX2D with Eclipse

05 May 2014 - 05:02 AM

Hello Everyone

Like the Titel says, im trying to make that SFML combined with BOX2D works on Eclipse. I already managed to make SFML work on Eclipse but i haven't found anyway to combine BOX2D with it aswell. I been looking around forums and google in generall to see if there is something i could use. Sadly many don't seem to enjoy working with Eclipse so it makes it even harder to find something. If someone could help me with the setup of BOX2D i would be very gratefull about that.

If your asking yourself why exactly eclipse and not Microsoft Visuall C++ or any other C++ compiler, il explain it gladly. Since im working in a webdesign company and mostly comfronted with PHP. I was given the task to use Eclipse to program certain things in our CMS with Eclipse. Eclipse is also good since we work combined and use SVN to commit our projects to the server.

Im thankfull for any feedback

Yours Truely

Is it Important to have a Concept for a Game?(Small/Medium/Large)

28 June 2013 - 01:07 AM

Greetings to everyone in the community

I was reading the topic on GameDevTuts+ (http://gamedev.tutsplus.com/articles/roundups/start-here/) and i came accross the question. "Is it really important to have a game concept for a game?" I mean ask yourselfs, if you still wanna change and things in a finshed or almost finished game you would have to recreate or modify the concept. Or what if you would have a medium or small project? Would you still need a concept or not?

And to concept what kinda phases are there? Would there really be only 4 Phases or more? Is it like changeable like the HERMES Concept for IT project or is it something fix you just have to follow to have a successfull game?

Thank You For Your Feedback

Same Problem with every Project

06 February 2013 - 12:16 PM

Greetings

As i mentioned in the Title i keep geeting the same issue with every project. Everytime i buy a book with a CD in it, having all the code in it. I always enjoy to start it for the first time. But always it comes up with errors when i try to compile does Projects. If i start something new like learn how to programm with SDL. Then i get a Linking problem or a did not found error. This keeps annoying me, and till now no one has shown me how to Logicaly search for the errors in these Projects.

Do you have any ideas what exactly to do? I normaly always copy the front part of the error and go search on google. But most don't even give good hints on what to exactly to do.

As for a Example il give you this.

http://www.lazyfoo.net/SDL_tutorials/lesson01/windows/msvsnet2010e/index.php

This would be the step i tried and this :

MSVCRT.lib(crtexe.obj) : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _main referenced in function ___tmainCRTStartup

Is what i got in response. It just pretty much annoys me that these errors show up and i have no clue what to do, or what they mean.

I hope you guys can help me

12 December 2012 - 09:50 AM

Hello everyone

Im kinda having problems with this book. Its from Thomson Course Technology and its called 3D Game Engine Programming from Stefan Zerbst with Oliver Düvel. Now my problem is that i started reading this book till chapter 3. Now when the first explanation comes up to write down what it says. It compiles normally. Then again there are solution files on this CD. Now i tried to compile does, but it seems like they have some errors in it. Now how can i, controll if im doing this right or not. I mean you can't relly on the solution files. So what are my options?

PS: (Sorry for the bad english im german and im not really good at it.)
