Dead by Halloween - Strategy iOS game

31 October 2012 - 10:10 AM

My name is Joan Roca, I'm 29 and I am an IT engineer who started to develop video games from home a year ago. Today I can announce that my first iOS game has been released! It's named Dead by Halloween.

It's a game that let's the player build a mysterious Halloween town. During the day everything seems almost normal. The goblins work on their workshops. The witches cook tasty soups in their cauldrons. The tourists take pictures of beautiful buildings. But at night, be warned of the dangers you might find in this town. You better stay at home!

More than 40 types of buildings to build like the Vampire's lab, the Werewolf hut, the Mad Scientist's lab...
Manage more than 20 different resources like Brains, Bones, Coffins, Candles...
Control the day and night cycle to alter the tasks your inhabitants do.
Attract tourists to your town and make them mysteriously disappear at night.
Produce and store candy to give out to kids every night.
Gameplay style reminiscent of city builder games from the late 90's.

NDA question

23 August 2011 - 10:17 AM

Hi everyone!

I'm an indepedent developer making a game as a personal project, it's not a company. The game is intended to be commercial. I'm about to hire a studio company in another country to make the graphic assets. I have given them lists with the characters, descriptions, buildings and some other details. My concern is if we should sign a NDA contract in order to protect my documents. They told me they have and standard template but Im not sure if it's a bit overkill. Besides I dont think I would have the money to enforce such contract. What do you think?

Some advise would be appreciated
