I've been working on a new RPG game for iOS and Android. Here's some art I've been messing around with the past few days. Please let me know what you think of it!

The game will feature a ton of characters to unlock that can be a part of a "class tree" as shown below. I plan on adding more obscure class trees that can include classes like a Bard or a Monk.

Each class will have 6 unique skills that a character can choose from, and each character during combat will only be able to have 3 active skills at a time. Characters will be able to achieve up to level 99 in each class, becoming more powerful and unlocking achievements. I plan on including a merchant that can provide gear upgrades, too.
 
Here is a VERY ROUGH concept of the gameplay.
 
Please share your thoughts! I'd love to hear your take on this class system and any pointers or criticisms you may have.

Think of a 2d skyrim/runescape single player randomized procedural generated roguelike for iOS & Android. You not only have combat skills but a ton of other skills like mining, smithing, crafting, herbalism, fishing, woodcutting, etc.

You go out and explore randomized dungeons, grassy plains, caves, etc(Similar to a roguelike) all filled with monsters and trees to cut down, veins of iron and copper to mine(Like runescape).

The more you do a certain thing the better you become at it, just like skyrim and runescape.

You have a "home base" or a plot of land for you to return to after adventuring and you place blocks to build a home.

So essentially it is an RPG that has zero story but focuses on building your home, exploring dungeons, looting, and improving your stats. I could have leaderboards for each individual stat, too.

So what do you think? I thought it would be a decent idea for a casual(or not) mobile rpg game that could be picked up and played for 2 minutes to an hour each sitting. Please give me any suggestions or concerns or pointers you have!

I just made a Gladiator and a Pirate for my upcoming game, Pixel Kingdom! This brings the total of units to 15 for launch day. Here's some info on what I've got so far I'd love to hear your ideas! Let me know what you think the Pirate and Gladiator should do. Btw they are unlocked with the following achievements:


[Unlock Pirate] - Find 100 Treasure Chests
[Unlock Gladiator] - Survive 100 Waves in the Arena

Warrior - Cost: 5
Archer - Cost: 10, ranged attacks.
Rogue - Cost: 10, 30% chance to dodge attacks
Wizard - Cost 20, ranged attacks, AoE 
Knight - Cost 20, high HP, decent Knockback
Cleric - Cost 15, Heals unit in front 
Monk - Cost 10, High knockback
Berserker - Cost 40, High ATK, 30% chance to summon lightning for AoE damage
Paladin - Cost 40, High HP, heals when attacking, can AoE heal
Necromancer - Cost 60, Summons skeletons to fight for you
Ninja - Cost 20, High ranged ATK, with teleport ninjutsu gear you can tap on him to change lanes
Dragoon - Cost 5, 30% chance to crit
Champion - Cost 80, High ATK, HP, Creates light wave that shoots down the lane
Pirate - ???
Galdiator???

Hey I just finished my first game using the Unity3D engine, Backyard Zombies. It's now on the Android market check it out! :D

Has anyone used the Unity3D Game Engine? It's a really powerful tool to use especially if you're an indie developer and want to avoid all of that low level coding that game development requires. Unity3D comes with it's built in physics engine and a ton of other good stuff. Within a few hours you could have a bunch of game objects on the field with some scripts slapped on them and bam you've got a working prototype.

If you've used Unity please share your experiences! What have you made? Are you currently developing anything?
