2D Character model

20 January 2013 - 02:27 PM

I've made some assets that might be of interest to you for the marketplace. I have made two 2D cartoon actor models, a man and a Knight. They are provided as a Flash, Illustrator, EPS or even as a Photoshop layered file (man only). Someone with limited art skills could buy the character and with minimal art program ability, customize the actor to suit their game.

Everything is layered, the hands, arms, eyeballs, eye pupils, eyebrows, side of hair, back of hair, fringe, or in order so that the character can be animated in lots of ways. Instead of me making a few set sprites, this model could be used to create the sprite actions that the programmer specifically needs and if they use flash, illustrator, or another vector based program, they could customize the character with ease, to make it more unique to their project.

If these items sell well I will upload extension packs, with more hair, weapons, props, body types, noses, head shapes, etc.

Where can I sell 2D character sprites?

10 January 2013 - 08:57 AM

Is there a site like Turbosquid for 2D artists? On Monday I am going to spend a day creating animation sprites for a 2D male character. I will create walk cycles, run, jump, attack, attacked, shoot etc etc. I aim to make it in a way so that the character could be easily altered by programmers who could use photoshop to customize for their own game. I could also provide the flash file so that it would a whole lot easier to edit colours and render out the png sprites, than colouring each png frame on photoshop. Anyway, this is just a test run, if nothing comes of it, it should still make for a nice portfolio piece but my question is, where could I put them up online for sale?

Here are a couple of samples of my work, to show that I am looking to creating some good artwork

Cartoon artist

I would like to break into the gaming industry, specifically online and mobile gaming. Presently I create cartoon designs and animations for small businesses all around the world, though I have also done some animation work for television commercials.

How is the best way to get involved? Should I find directories of game companies and contact them directly or do you use recruitment agencies to find new game artists for you?

Here are some examples of my work, which are all vector based
