As someone who is beginning to identify with this, does that work for or against me? (consider I want to start my own company eventually, even if it's in handing out flyers)Are you really a jack of all trades, passionate for each facet of game development?

Awesome job so far everyone! Please give us your feedback on how our article efforts are going. We still need more finished articles for our May contest theme: Remake the Classics
About Me
A physics student, undergrad at the university of Leeds. I have an interest in game development, but as of now, virtually no skills in it. I plan to be more sufficient by the time I graduate! I also follow film and music.

Great insights, I guess I'll carry on with java in the knowledge I'll pick up more skills along the way, on a project by project basis.

I'm a newbie myself so take with a pinch of salt, but it's probably detrimental to plan that far ahead. Aim to educate yourself and work hard, but planning projects 5 years in the distance seems a bit limiting. Good luck anyways!

So by this do you mean there is a gap waiting for quality content, or perhaps the more depressing, people don't want quality content, and as the majority pretty much rules what makes it to the front pages..?I always walk away disappointed... the same (meh) apps always dominate the sales charts, which is telling.
