I'm having trouble modeling and texturing for a particular model. I need advice on how to proceed.
With all the trim and color, I don't know whether or not to model the trim and create a texture for the color or create a texture map and includes all the detailed trim (cummerbund/drop, trim, silver balls). I've seen that done, but I'm not a 3D modeler, so I don't know that much about sculpting models. Can anyone give me advice on this and tell me how to start?
I'm trying to build a team to help with the construction of a new game to present to Drum Corps International. I've been working on development and model design for the past month. While we can't pay anyone a salary, if you're interested in working with us to construct the game, we might be able to pay you a fixed percentage of game profits. There are 3 million drum corps fans, and many more participants in high school and college marching bands that would jump at the opportunity to play a video game of what they love to do. The market is wide open for a game, which means we'll have a monopoly on the marching music market.
Prospective features to include a Tour of Champions main game where players get the chance to play the World Champions' shows through several years, a Franchise Mode where players get to design the show, lead the corps through sectional and visual rehearsal, and even create a new drum corps. The idea with the Franchise Mode is that players will earn special unlocks, specific to the shows they play, and get to apply them to the corps in Franchise Mode.
