#5114621 Should I make my game engine cross platform?

Posted by gchris6810 on 05 December 2013 - 10:12 AM

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I think that as it is my first proper game engine project I won't focus on the cross platform element, although the way I plan to code it would make it relatively conducive to porting when it is finished.

#5106665 Duplicating vertices so the count is equal to UV Coordinates

I am not trying to parse the tags. I am using OpenCOLLADA to load the model so therefore the information is passed to my application as separate UV index and position index lists. Perhaps I should have been clearer about how I obtained the data.

EDIT: Could we please try and cut through the generality so as I can have something more specific to work on. Thanks.

#5099156 C++ array always has the same values for each element

No, sorry, that was just example code. in the actual code it uses a variable read in from the file. I have validated that each element read from the file is unique.

#5081990 Why do I get ridiculous floating point values when I read a binary file?

I did actually try using a union although it may not have been clear in my code example in my first post I use the type RootDwordFloat which is the following union:

EDIT: I'm pretty sure it is not a double.

typedef union
{
        uint32_t dword_value;
	float float_value;
} RootDwordFloat;
