pseudocode!

24 February 2013 - 07:06 PM

Pseudocode is writing steps in English? I'm kinda mixed up by some of this. I found an example that confuses me:

Pseudocode to me would be just write simple steps in English. Like for example:

wake up,
get a shower,
get dressed,
have something to eat,
etc, etc.

Beyond 4294967295

07 February 2013 - 06:19 AM

Is there a way to make this number larger using the "int" besides "long int"

So lets say I want an unlimited number (which ill never use). More curious then anything.

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

int main()
{
    //integer wrap around
    score = 4294967295;
    cout << "score: " << score << endl;

    ++score;
    cout << "score: " << score << endl;

    return 0;
}

So instead of making this number wrap around keep going up and up?

Recomanded Books for Java

23 January 2013 - 02:20 PM

Sorry for the last post I didn't realize it was an illegal site!

Does anyone recommend a book for beginner Java. Or a series of books that go from beginner/intermediate/advanced. I'm looking for something that is very detailed.

Also I will be learning C# after I learn a bit about Java. Any recommend books for this style as well?

I came across a site with eBooks....

"Hello World!"

I started to get back into Java about a week ago and did a few tutorials. I was wanting to know what would be the best book to start with. I came across this site [redacted by moderator] and was wanting to know if anyone recommends any of these books.

One book that caught my eye was Killer Game Programming in Java by Andrew Davision.

Also note I'm looking to program for WP8. But im at the starting point to learn Java.

Thanks for your help!

games for phones

18 January 2013 - 08:19 PM

Im just about to pick a programming style but which one should I start with. I would like to easily port over mobile phones. Starting with Windows phone. Platform games on Xbox, ps3 and other big Systems dont appeal to me... yet. I would like to start with simple games such as pong or older games and work my way up. Im not looking for 3D programming until after I make my ideal 2d game. As for my next question are there software that I have to buy like "director" haha bet you never heard of that program in a while. PS I do have basic knowledge in programming in lingo and Java. Far from expert and has been years.
