#5263468 Tower defence with Unreal Engine 4

Posted by HyperV on 24 November 2015 - 02:28 PM

Hi there,

With a little more searching on the Epic Games Launcher - Learn Tab -  scroll to the bottem "Stratergy Game"(tower defence)

Your question is kinda odd, do you have experience with C++?

i would suggest listen to the others above me they are giving you a much simpler option then using a "difficult" engine.

hope this helps

Try all of them, look whats best for you and what saves time for you.

Also look for whats easier for you. The above tools that are mentioned by others uses different languages (as mentioned by them).

Hope this helps,

#5242130 Nvidia Physx SDK 3.3 on ATI 7850 card

PhysX does not work on ATI, it only works on Nvidia and CPU(bad performance)

To compile the code you need an Nvidia GPU.

Hope this helps.

#5239822 Why Do People Use DirectX?

Posted by HyperV on 11 July 2015 - 04:59 PM

Why the fuck are people using DirectX?

The first rule of business is that if you see a business doing something odd, it's probably more profitable than the obvious option.
The second rule is that if everyone is doing something and you don't know why, then you better find out before pretending you can undercut them with your obvious answer.
The third rule is that if you swear at people when doing your investigation, as to highlight your frustration regarding the fact that your obvious avenues are apparently not followed, then no one will take you seriously ;)

#5234630 Need an engine

Posted by HyperV on 13 June 2015 - 12:30 PM

if you want to learn programming write the game from scratch use frameworks.Better way to learn how to program. I know that engines are fast but you said personal use i bet it''s for studying.

Not only programming but you also improve your math and other nice magic.

With any engine you can create a card game it's just your programming knowledge.

Hope this helps,

#5210650 Designing an MMO?

Posted by HyperV on 14 February 2015 - 04:20 AM

Normally i would ditch these kinda topics , people trying to create an MMO.

Most of the answers are from Braindigitalis.

Start small Very small and continue your process. These days MMO's aren't getting attracted to people like in the beginning.

It only gets hyped even if it's crappy.

Keep prototyping your project.

Wish you luck.

#5209118 Game Engine project

Posted by HyperV on 06 February 2015 - 01:34 PM

First this should be on the classified page and not here Looking for a team.

Second just because you didn't enjoy the current tools that arent enjoyable for you doesn't mean you have to create a whole new engine. It's sounds like you haven't fully created something with it.

You haven't specified your target and your experience about programming.

Creating a game engine is very risky and needs alot of time.

There is a article here in gamedev called Create Games Not Engines. Its recommended to read it and not inventing the wheel again. To be honest with you I have never heard this from a seniors perspective.

And don't be the idea guy, work smart not hard.

My apologies if this sounds offensive/rude.

Hope this informs you enough.

#5203041 RTS game : UDK or Unity or else ?

Posted by HyperV on 09 January 2015 - 03:44 AM

Creating a game from scratch can take you alot of time, it's like reinventing the wheel.Sure you can make it from scratch depends on you.

Using engines can give you the tools to create the RTS much faster.

I can't recommend a engine for you because these are opinions.

Check out whats suits for you and what works nicer to work with.

But you can basically create an RTS from almost all engines.

i hope this answers your question.

#5185982 Best Tools for 2D Fighter

Posted by HyperV on 09 October 2014 - 07:38 AM

First have you googled this? because if i google HTML5 game dev tools i immediately found something for that http://www.html5gamedevelopment.com/html5-tools?page=2.

XNA is not dead it's now Monogame it's still being used by many commercial game developers.

Unity is not overkill it supports 2D game development very well.

Posted by HyperV on 05 September 2014 - 08:05 AM

not very sure what you mean but if you want to make a webbased app for android PhoneGap is something you should look at.

PHP is more serverside.creating buttons(CSS) and functionality they use Javascript.

#5153950 how to find specefic platforms sdk like p34 and xone?

Posted by HyperV on 16 May 2014 - 02:28 AM

it's free to register but you need to register a company and the SDK can cost up to 2000 dollars/euro.

btw i think you also need a financial report of your company to apply for it.
