I'm looking for lots of code to do some meta-analysis on. Does anyone know of an large open code repo? Worse case I can just grab a bunch of code off GitHub but that requires unzipping them and isolating the code part.
It use to be a simple process to submit a project to the IOTD but now it's some weird meta game involving a 2nd off-site web page? How do you even submit images and projects anymore? I'm all for meta gaming but the use flow for that process leaves alot to be desired.
Is that like some troll power bar? Allows trolls to know how well they are doing? Do they go super Saiyan of they max it out? Personally I don't like it always being present if it's empty. That kinda makes u feel like your being watched and is anti-ethical to the spirit of the message board, imo.
I suggest GameDev would benefit from having another segment similar to Image Of the Day, called Project Of the Month, where a worthy project chosen by GameDev community is displayed for a month on the front page. There are several reason for this. One is exposure for indie project, 2nd it can act as a small competition for indies to help catalyze projects (happens recurrently every month), and lastly it will further promote GameDev as a indie destination of choice by acting as a hub for projects.
