Would you like to become a GameDev.net News Editor?

20 March 2006 - 09:45 AM

We are once again looking for volunteers to join our news team. Perhaps you missed the opportunity last time and you've decided you'd like to join us? Or maybe you responded the last time but didn't get on the team?... whatever your situation, if you're interested in joining our hard working news team, we'd like to hear from you... "Do you consider yourself "in the know" with the current events of the games industry? Do you have the investigative desire to find out what's happening in the games industry and relate what you find to game developers across the world? Are you interested in working with the dynamic, hard working GameDev.net team? GameDev.net is looking for News Editors: people who can keep GameDev.net's news section up-to-date with the latest events, happenings, releases, and controversial topics of interest to those in the games industry. If you are interested you must be at least 18 years of age, show excellent written communication skills, demonstrate an understanding of journalism, be self-motivated, have a passion for game development, maintain a basic understanding of HTML, and have an undying love for GameDev.net. As a news editor you will be expected to provide daily updates to GameDev.net's news content Monday through Friday. We are looking to [add to our current] news team, so we are not expecting news editors to spend any more than 10 to 15 hours per week updating, managing, or writing up news content. This is not a guaranteed paid position, as we cannot guarantee consistent compensation, but in the worst case we will show our appreciation for your work through other means (just ask any of our other staff). If anyone is interested, please email [news@gamedev.net] with a sample article (no more than 250-300 words) on a current event in the games industry affecting game developers, along with your resume, and a brief, 2-3 sentence summary of why you want to work as a GameDev.net News Editor." Thanks!

7UP offer free ticket to space

06 October 2004 - 04:01 AM

7UP have announced that it will be the first to offer a free ticket to space with a "behind the cap" promotion where someone will have a chance to win. 7Up tops off space flight with ticket to ride. I bet the winner will be a rich person ... ohh yeah, I've seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Seriously though, this is very cool, if you won the ticket would you go or would you give your ticket to somebody else? My husband says he would ebay it, I would probably take the opportunity to go.
