Geometry Parametrically

16 February 2013 - 08:08 AM

Hi,

I want to create geometry without worrying about efficiency of drawing. I'm looking for a ways to draw triangles with Triangle list or triangle strip but without index buffers. It would be great to get some pointers or samples for doing it in dx.

Copies of Textures of 3d meshes in .x files

05 February 2005 - 07:54 PM

Well in my game I have loaded more than 30 meshes and made one or more mesh objects. The meshes are of .x(dot ex format!hehe) and the texture names are embeded in them. But all the meshes are having same bitmap texture My question is that if I am loading all the meshes seperately will dx load the same texture 30 times or keep only one copy of the texture?

NoOb Ahoy! Camera Collision

29 December 2004 - 10:56 PM

So finally I opened up VC++ 6 for DX8.1 I was modifying a file compiled before when I realised that the D3DXIntersect function compares intersection of two mesh and that it is not good for checking camera intersection with mesh(walls similar to FPS type). Now I am thinking of doing this. I will get the pos of the camera in 3D space and set a dummy box in that pos and actually compare the dummy box by D3DXIntersect for intersection. But I think this is a tedious. I am sure there must be some function to compare collisions of camera with walls ,Please give me some info of camera collision checking methods similar to D3DXIntersect or What to do thingy?
