filling screen in SDL; c linux

01 June 2013 - 09:33 PM

I'm trying to set up SDL, I can only update a small portion of the screen. Has anyone else seen this problem? I have copy of pasted different code listings, but the result is the same.

I called update a 2nd time and it fix the problem. Why did this happen?

Pythons - while true:

02 May 2011 - 06:47 AM

In python, the standard to be wrap the game loop in a while True statement using a break statement to exit the program doesn't seem right to me. I have always felt loops should have a defined end condition - while some variable is true and changing that variable to false when the game is ready to end. I am planning on writing some tutorials and was wondering should I go with the standard idiom or use the while condition loop?

problems with Idle(python)

24 April 2010 - 04:14 AM

I am unable to open idle. When I attempt it just ends without opening. I attempted to open it by using the command window, but got this error. ImportError: WSAStartup failed: network not ready. it occurred in socket.py. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix?
