Game Designer Portfolio Question

Hey, I have some questions about how to build a game design portfolio. I'm currently working as a game designer for a company that creates casino slot games. These games don't have a credits page, so the only proof I designed any games would be internal to the company. Since I don't draw, and my programming is weak (I have a CS degree but I haven't programmed in 3 years), I'm wondering what else goes into a designer's portfolio? Thanks! --Ed

[UT3 Mod] Warm Gun Update

Hey everyone. I wanted to show you all some of the progress we've made on our mod. First, here is a test animation of the Brave character. Brave Test Animation The Following are some new concepts for our first level. We've decided to move away from the standard red vs blue team colours and have decided to use red vs white. Here is a concept of how the team colours will look: Next I have a WIP of a church, which will be in center of Red River Canyon. Finally we decided to rework the 49er's pick axe. Warm Gun: The Second Coming of the Wild West A futuristic wild west, Warm Gun combines the favorite motifs of the classic western genre with the scraps of an obliterated technocracy. World War III has been fought to the tipping point and ecologists’ long unheeded cries have been silenced by the grim truth of their predictions. To the last drop of oil have the world’s resources been depleted, and only sporadic traces of modern structure can be sifted in the dust. Time ticks forward but humans must retrace their advancement back, through a history that has already been lived and to the Wild West for the second time around. We have trampled ahead to the past in muddy boots, to the United States of late 19th century. Greeted by the ghost of the wide-open country, the exhausted land is barren too, of all the old dreams we fulfilled beyond our means. This spun western lets you take control of 6 original characters; choose from weapons new and strange and a wider range of modern contraptions with primitive power. Hi! I'm having trouble trying to figure out out to tell if my mouse is clicking on a specific object or not. Say I have a rectangle glBegin(GL_QUADS); glTexCoord2i(0, 1);glVertex3f(0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); glTexCoord2i(1, 1);glVertex3f( 8.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); glTexCoord2i(1, 0); glVertex3f( 8.0f, 3.0f, 0.0f); glTexCoord2i(0, 0); glVertex3f(0.0f, 3.0f, 0.0f); glEnd(); I know how to recieve the x,y coordinates of the mouse cursor, but how do I tell that I'm actually over this object? If the camera changes and the object becomes smaller what happens then? If you have any links or any ideas please let me know. Thanks!
