Any suggestions for print setting?

However, there is a growing and fast expanding market in the retro and classic gaming and computer markets, especially in the areas of software and hardware development (i am talking mainly anything pre n64/playstation/saturn period)

And given that your site has a bent or specialization in anything and everything to do with games programming/d...

Chat Applet Broken?

Today I tried to go to the chat room via the java applet, and it gave the following error in both FF and Chrome:

Most forums I am active on have a 'View New Posts' button; which searches for any new posts that you have not read. I can't seem to find this magical button here so my alternative is to go back to the index, and click on the topics I am interested in. I have no...

Can we have a MMO Fail forum?

Can we have a place where we move all the 'I need help with my MMO' threads?

I'd really like to read all of these but I don't have enough lunch time to find them all.

Is this browser related (Opera 10.10) ?

Has anybody else encountered the following problem: In my posts plus signs (+) disappear completely.

The following line should read A plus B, but I actually get A B.

A + B

This happens even when code or source-tagging:

(Code):

A + B

(source)

A + B

So: Do you see the plus signs above, or not ?

I'm using Opera 10.10 on Windows XP. I had to resort to &#43;, like this:

A + B

then it works, but this is a major inconvenience.

Unfortunately this website, (http://www.gamedev.com), is blocked at most of the workspaces. Do you have any idea to overcome this problem. For example, how about creating a "pointer" to this website, I mean another URL that directs to here and doesn't contain any "inconvenient" keyword in its address....

Help Wanted Forum

In the new version of the site I want to suggest having some king of webform instead of the simple text editor for the help wanted forum. This way posts get formated in proper way.

Specially when it comes to MMO projects I would like to see all fields marked as required, poster should have to answer also the inconvenient questions like

How long are you working on this project: ______

Do you have a design document? yes[ ] no[ ]
Do you have a dedicated server? yes[ ] no[ ]

Things I'd like:

Visible in user's profile, which past contests he's won. (With those entries hopefully hosted by GDNet, and easy downloads for them)

Way for a user to click a button to mark himself down as "Participating" in a contest, and a way to click a button to "Drop out" of it. This is while the contest is running, before the entries are submitted. After the deadline, any user who didn't s...

Track this topic

Hey,

So I've never really used the bookmarks feature, but took me a guess to figure out that "Track this topic" meant "Bookmark this topic". Just seems like it would be a more clear user experience if the text read "Bookmark this topic" or "Add Bookmark" instead of "Track this topic".

This keeps the forum visible so both can be viewed. I know that the same effect can be achieved by right clicking on the link and selecting "Open in new tab", but it is much more convenient to simply left click on the link.

Would it be possible to implement this here?...
