Archer Alec - IndieGame Devlog 8 Updates!

Hi! Havent made any new entrys lately, but I have been working on the two new bosses a new arrow type and sounds and music/boss music!

The bosses took some time because I wanted them to represent the biomes but also be unique at the same time.

Meet "Cactun" The desert boss. This boss moves slowly and periodically pelts the terrain with needles

Here is the swamp boss (no name as of yet) This boss has 3 phases First phase it moves slowly and spawns tiny mosquitos that have 1hp and will fly after the player. Once he is destroyed he will split into two smaller mosquitos that move rapidly and fire water bolts at the player. Then when those are killed they split into 2 smaller mosquitos so a total of 4. Once those are killed the encounter is over!

In the previous image you can see the new arrow which is Frost.
Frost arrows slow targets down to a base speed of 1 (Passive boar speed)
And stop the target periodically and has a 1/10 chance of freezing the target solid!

I've been sick for awhile so havent accomplished too much. But I have worked on the desert boss and its turning out nicely.
Im also trying to change how the player enters and exists the level to give a better since of progression

Archer Alec - IndieGame Devlog 6: "The Hog"

Working on the new Forest boss! “The Hog”
- Moves half the speed of the player
- Chases the player
- Eats the player dealing damage, then spitting them out
On death awards the player with a random arrow upgrade along with full hp and 50 points!
(Numbers are subject to change though!)

Archer Alec - IndieGame Devlog 3: Some updates!

Well considering thus far my game has been mute. Its time to start making some sound effects.
Im trying to stick closely to the chiptune bit music/sounds so I will be using this software to make my sounds.

Jeri(makes all the music) Is working on the swamp biome music currently. The other music is almost ready to be implemented just need to tweak
the looping.

Kingsley and I are working on a new online highscore system so in the next couple of weeks we will hopefully be giving out some download links so people can play it and see each others scores.

Well yesterday I implemented a pause button. No menu at the moment.
And today I retexured some of the walls so all the biomes will have matching level walls.

Archer Alec - IndieGame Devlog 1

Well this is my first entry of the Journal, so here is a little rundown of what Archer Alec is.
Archer Alec is semi rougelike semi platformer type of game.
The game is based around Alec running through various levels killing all kinds of creatures for points once all monsters in the level are cleared the player will run to the edge of the level and onto the next one. Each level is procedurally generated along with the monsters that will inhabit them.

Also I have a YoutubeChannel and a Tumblr where I will be posting updates frequently.
The game is definitely in pre alpha at the moment.
I will be working on re implementing sounds back into the game soon aswell.
