We announced Empyrios our strategy RPG!

We're a tiny studio and we finally found the time (well made the time by staying up about 50 hours straight) to finalize our site and announce our upcoming strategy RPG Empyrios for the iPad/Mac/PC platforms. Also I saw a posting by GDNet on facebook regarding being in the banner, and I'm hoping to get some consideration as three long time community members have worked on this title (myself, nsmadsen, drilian).

Thanks GoCatGo :) We're getting closer to release and for the most part we're art complete, right now it's mainly continued work on the campaign, making the AI better, unit tweaks, and polishing up our out of game UI.

@gwihlidal I'm hoping to release before DA:I because I *know* that will be chipping into my free time quite a lot, and as it is I already have nearly zero smile.png

 

@JasonZ I do want to write some more posts in the future but I'm actually leaning more towards the production, design, some AI, etc rather than purely technical. The reason being that our rendering is actually purely stone age stuff (i.e. something like the original Bioware Infinity Engine with some crazy texture cache/hotswapping) as we wanted to run on the original iPad1, older PCs, and possibly iPhone 3GS/4+. I say possibly as the game was originally designed for the iPad/PC and as you can see from the shots there are a billion UX hurdles to overcome on a smaller screen. If we can't get to the quality level that we have on the larger screens than we'll have to go without a mobile version.

@Jdiggity1 We definitely have a killer soundtrack with many tracks geared towards the different environments, we were actually talking about putting some samples up in a post just the other night!

 

@dnlmackay Our plan is actually to have updates once the game is released which will be free to all players, as we want to make sure that in multiplayer battles everyone has access to the same units, environments, etc. There are already concrete plans for our first update and as we're nearly art complete on the release version we've actually started on some of that. For example in our first update we're planning on adding one new unit type per race, new environments, and a couple things we want to have in multiplayer. Of course we don't have full specs because we want to see what players are interested in seeing once we launch, and any tweaks we might need to make.
