I think for anyone beginning to learn to game dev, you should heed the following Suggestions.

  1. I don't care how you do it; just do it.
  2. Your language doesn't matter. Your platform doesn't matter.
  3. Nothing. Truly NOTHING. Is better or best for game dev.
  4. You will struggle. You will get everything wrong. You will write terrible code.
  5. You are expected to fail in the most successful way.
  6. So just make a game.
  7. Are you worried about performance, cross-platform, code smell, or architecture, then GOTO 8.
  8. Finish making that game, worry about nothing else.
  9. If you want to learn how to make your game better, then show your code and ask questions.
  10. If you want to make another game, then GOTO: Step 6.

Of course you do you finish on 10. When you are done, go back to Step 6 and repeat.

Done means complete/finished does it not?

People who are beginning to learn to game dev aren't reading your post, they are far too busy creating "how should I start" threads on the forum :)
