About this blog
The development of a new game engine
Entries in this blog
What happens when you give a concept artist/designer a camera? This happens!
Mizan has just joined the team! He is quite the addition, since Jcam Technologies has never had a programmer other than myself! I am glad to have him around, and we welcome him with the same warmth that we welcome all other members. Welcome, Mizan, to Jcam Technologies. This also means that Jcam Engine 2 will speed up development. We already have begun integrating classes to load models and apply physics to them!
We just finished rendering the video for our Indiegogo!

Jcam Engine 2 is going to be an engine designed to be cross platform (Windows, Mac, Linux, possible console support) and able to turn out any detail level you throw at it with ease.
So far, the features we have currently implemented are:
- Bullet physics
- OpenGL 2.1
- Built in terrain generator
- First Person camera control
Features to be added in the next few builds:
- Third person camera control
- Dynamic skybox (weather, day/night cycle)
- Build in modding support
- an integrated scripting language for level and mod creation
Jcam Engine 2 is the largest project that Jcam Technologies has ever taken on.
If you would like to find out about one of the games that is being developed along side Jcam Engine 2, check out http://timemachine.jcamtech.com.
If you would like to support Jcam Engine 2 and Time Machine, check out our indiegogo: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/time-machine--2/x/2799923
We need the money for licensing costs and the payment of the members on the team (everyone has been working entirely on volunteer time for the past 5 years).
Thank you for reading,
More updates to come soon.
