C++ Day 1

Today begins the long journey to create a game. I envision a great 2-D space shooter with RPG elements available on PC, Vita, and maybe even mobile. I recognize that this journey is going to involve learning a lot of different skills. I will have to learn programming, some graphic design, some audio design, and possibly build a game engine. I will probably also have to reach out to some people on the Internet to get help polishing the graphics in the audio.
I embrace this new journey with gusto and today I have started out on a refresher on C ++for lunch. I need to create a total of one . I am going to do this by doing the C++ course provided by the Game Institute. Today I went through chapters 1 and 2. Chapter 1 was a basic intro on how to set up C++ and how to set up Microsoft Visual Studio 2013. Chapter 2 was concerned with conditional statements, loops and arrays. Even though the material was basic, the exercises definitely shook the rust off my brain and made me think.
The exercises I did today were a logical operator evaluation, a basic navigation system via text, a number averaging program, a factorial calculator, a matrix addition program, a linear search and a selection sort through a user created array.
That is about all I am going to post for today. I will post more tomorrow.
