Marketing has reached new levels of absurdity

Last night, while I was enjoying the two-hour 24-a-thon on Fox, I noticed something peculiar.

There were commercials... advertising a commercial.

Seriously. There were about 3-4 commercials saying to stay tuned for the special X-Men 3 trailer comming up sometime within the next hour.

So there are now commercials for commercials.

Marketing has truly reached a new level of absurdity.

In some ways it doesn't suprise me what with people waiting outside of cinemas to watch the next Star Wars trailer. But you're right, it's pretty absurd - especially as you could watch the trailer on t'internet whenever you want.

So you're making a comment about a commercial for a commercial for a trailer for a sequel to a movie based on a comic book.

And now I'm commenting on that.

If somebody quotes this comment, the universe will likely run out of stack space and reboot.

You missed a level.

Technically, it's a comment about a commercial for a commercial for a trailer for a sequel to a sequel (which is in itself based on a graphic novel based on a comic book) to a movie based on a comic book.
