More DaveWorld shots.

In the interests of not dropping completely off the face of the GDnet journals page, here are some shots of Dave's new terrain engine. It's much prettier than Purity (the bastard).

Older to newer:

Glow is progressing well, I'm making many updates to the inventory system and I should have guns firing by Wednesday -- the post-midterm crunch is starting to suck me in again. [crying]

I think it's defined by hand right now but a random terrain generator is on the way.

Well, it's not completely defined by hand; you can edit it by hand but if you want there's actually a crude random terrain generator I threw in there. You press R and it goes through and gives each vertex a rand() value, and then runs the smoothing algorithm 20 times. As weird as it sounds, that actually produces some decent looking moderately hilly terrain.
