Gaming magazines

A few months ago I had some air miles that were about to expire, so I used one of the airline's programs to turn them in for exchange with magazine subscriptions.

Now i'm not going to name any names (though you can find them all at your local newsstand), but these magazines are essentially pornography. Lots of pretty pictures but not much redeeming content. I should have just used the miles to get a subscription to Playboy. At least I could conceivably make the argument that I read it for the articles.

Do these people seriously consider themselves gaming "journalists?"

Again, I have a copy of EGM where they refer to Linux as a programming language. These people are utterly clueless when it comes to anything other than "move stick, Mario moves".
