Updated my journal...

I have been a bit too busy preparing for my big European trip to get much done on game development this week. Given my approach to planning anything has more to do with chaos theory then anything you would find in a management textbook this is taking me longer than I had expected. However I've got time to write an extended rambling journal entry if I stagger it throughout the day in Notepad.

I am planning on doing a bit of game development while I am away; I'm not capable of doing touristy things for 16 hours a day for an extended period of time, so I might as well do some programming on the laptop. While I won't have access to as many resources as if I were here if I can compile "Pierre and the Fish" that should be enough capability to do something.

I'd also like to get my game dev skills into gear as seeing the rising enthusiasm for the next "Four Elements" competition on the forums has reminded me that that 4E5 will be starting soon. I wasn't quite ready to attempt a game last year, but since the theme last year was a lot of fun and I want to work on a game anyway I think I'll give it a shot this year. Hopefully the theme this year will be just as good. I still think having five elements for 5E5 would be cool: pirates, ninjas, robots, zombies and vikings, maybe?
