So I just moved into a new office room at where I work, and this room used to be empty. There is a board room right across from it which is again, usually empty, and it's not in view of anywhere else from the office except for this room that I just moved into.
There's this Muslim girl who works in another division, I don't know her name, and I don't work with her, but she's a co-op student from university, and she's wearing that burqa or hijab or whatever the hell it's called. So basically, she's completely covered up from head to toe, and the only visible part of her is half of her face, and half of her hands. Apparently she always goes into that board room to pray, because it's out of view and nobody bothers her.
So the other day I'm sitting in that room facing the door, and she goes to the board room for her ritual, and she hasn't noticed that I've moved in to the room, so she still thinks that she's out of the view.
Normally you'd think that's ok, except that she started changing. I'm sitting there and right in my view there's this extremely religious muslim girl who always covers herself from all men, changing her shirt.
I was totally stuck wondering what should I do. It's not exactly pleasing to see someone like her without her shirt (wearing a bra, of course), and I couldn't figure out a proper way of dealing with this.
If I tried to tell her, it would lead to an extremely odd situation and her being embarrased.
If I didn't do anything and just sat there, she might notice me at some point, and lead to another weird situation, probably this time with her bringing her tribe to kill me for watching their girl.
If I tried to shut the door without saying anything, it would still mean that I saw her and decided to shut my door, which would get her both embarrased and offended.
At any rate, after being there for a bit thinking what to do, and also informing my friends via IM about what I'm viewing, I decided to hide until she was gone. She didn't notice me, and everything went well.
