I just finished replacing the centralized event manager with Signals (the signal/slots pattern). Everything seems much cleaner now, and there aren't really any dependencies which weren't already there. I feel the urge to attack and wipe out singletons now, once and for all...

I will upload prettier pictures when the issue with model loading has been solved.

About the game project I mentioned in the first post: I'm most likely (re)starting an old space strategy game project focused only on combat. Think Homeworld with slower pace, more strategic focus and no base building. And with real physics. And I'm thinking of using billboarded NATO-like symbols for the ships instead of cool space ship models, for the simple reason that a good artist seems to be impossible to find. And the billboards can be replaced with cool space ships later if I do find a good artist or two. Or three.
