The scripting system that Raymond has set up makes this SO freaking easy. I can set up a simple back and forth type conversation with in a few minutes (by back and forth I mean you talk to person A which activates something in person B's dialogue which activates something in person A's dialogue, etc.)
On a side note - Both Raymond and I find Bongo Beach to be multiple-ROFL funny.
DragonForge TechnologyI haven't gotten anything done on this today. I plan on finishing the scripts for the maps for Project2 and then I'll do some work on the article. I'm not quite sure if I'll be able to finish it by tomorrow(since tomorrow is Mother's Day). I'll do my best to have it finished by Monday night, but I can't make any promises.
Discussion
Other newsI must hang myself for I've been doing horrible with my spelling today (i.e. I spelled sandals as sandles and bikini as bakini.)
I worked on Project Asrion for the last hour and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Here they are via a WMV:
ProjectAsrion_Part3.wmv
The new features are animated tiles (ala the water tiles)
And entities (also animateable)
I also added the map file and entity file.
Not too bad for around an hour and a half worth of work.
The articles are going to be split into a mini-series, each one covering a specific area (the first being an intro and getting started article.) I should be able to right the first one tomorrow. In it we'll build a little code base and a couple wrappers.
I also think I'm going to do a little bit of a flip and do the file editors first, since adding animated tiles by hand is a real pain =/. These articles will be done using C# since its makes things hella easier, so some of you might need to learn C# or go elsewhere for tool building articles (I really suggest that you learn C# since it will really improve your productivity in tool building and it'll add another language to your resume which is always a plus.)
On a side note I've figured out how to manage my time. During the morning hours (around 10-2) I can work on my side projects, then from around 3-midnight (2-3 will be break time) I can work on Project2 and then from midnight to around 3 I can work on my side projects some more (except on the weekends. On the weekends from the time I get up until Raymond goes to bed will be spent on Project2. After he goes to bed I'll work on my side projects if there is time.)
So, later night expect a nice long update since I plan to get a TON of stuff done. But now its bedtime.
