odd results

I'm getting some weird results:

It seems some diffuse values are getting lost along the way I know that they are being calculated correctly, but something's going awry.

Other than that, it's looking OK. I've changed to a simpler scene for now, and there are two cubes which you can almost see casting faint shadows. Once I fix this issue I need to get the hemicubes set up for rendering properly, which will involve lots of probably painful maths.
