It doesn't actually look like that in the game. I was timing my screenshots based of the floor texture. Since it has 5 frames and the others in the scene have 3, the gif came out all messed up.
I spent the rest of today trying to get the monsters facing the right way. That is drawing the proper frame depending on the camera roation and position. But I gave up. If you know anything about this billboarding stuff please help. If this is fixed I can begin adding in the other monsters.
