An animated update

I gave up on those foobared scrolling walls. I instead added floor/ceiling and wall animations:



It doesn't actually look like that in the game. I was timing my screenshots based of the floor texture. Since it has 5 frames and the others in the scene have 3, the gif came out all messed up.

I spent the rest of today trying to get the monsters facing the right way. That is drawing the proper frame depending on the camera roation and position. But I gave up. If you know anything about this billboarding stuff please help. If this is fixed I can begin adding in the other monsters.

My only attempts with sprites ended up with them all being upside down and I couldn't work out how to realign them, so I'm not going to be much help.

I loved playing Doom at extremely high resolution graphics and pretending it looked good.

I meant "I love...". I did it just recently.... [smile] ....... And I'm an old-school gaming god myself. I jumped into the scene with the Ultima series.
