Courtesy of a post on Beyond3D you might want to point your browser at The People Behind DirectX 10--Part 1: Microsoft. I've only had time to scan-read it, but theres some interesting bits and pieces. Dunno how quickly it'll filter through, but I've submitted it for GDNet's front-page news for the wider audience.
David Weller has also posted a neat picture-heavy introduction to PIX's new "Pixel History" feature. Have a read of that here. I've been too busy to install the June SDK, but I shall do that when I get back from London.
From looking at David's screenshots I couldn't see any obvious "link" to the textures sampled for a pixel. Maybe its there and just not shown, but I think I might end up grinning like an idiot if it could show me the texture(s), mip-levels and sampled locations for a pixel. That would be so useful. Then again, if it isn't in the latest build I'll make a request for it [smile]
Sometime early this morning I finally finished downloading the interim B2/RC1 build of Vista (5456). Only took 3 days solid in the end [headshake] (Oh, and you - yes you, Muhammad - stop laughing)
It's tempting to install it now - the last few builds have failed inside of 30mins or so thus it shouldn't take long for me to break this one. But if it decided to work then I'd almost certainly miss my train [lol]
