Hey everyone!

I've got a movie for you guys today, and its a big one, so start the download now, and read on!

Angels 22: The Video II(14.8MB)

New Stuff
Okay, today I got loads of stuff done between my Ground Control and N sessions, so I'll just make a list and elaborate on the more exciting things later.

-Got Water Working in the Level Editor
-Put a SAM button in the Editor
-Made a snazzy crosshair cursor for the Editor
-Optimized Collision Detection
-Made Trees burn when hit
-Got the lighting system working from the editor
-Talked to Mark about the game's design, and integrated his new Radar
-Other stuff I forgot about....

Sorry, but I just spent 30 minutes fighting with Windows Movie Maker to make that movie, and I just don't feel like typing right now, so I'll leave you guys with this screeny that shows the water, burning trees, and Mark's new RADAR.

Let us know what you think! Peace Out!

P.S. Man Journal Land was slow today, I was still at the top, and I posted yesterday[grin]

The water definitely needs some more work, at least some kind of texture with different kinds of blues and greens. Couldn't you scroll a texture with waves drawn on the top over the water? I like the radar, nice interface even though it is slightly dark. The only thing it lacks is a a kind of beveled border around the radar screen to make it integrate better with the rest of the radar.

Anyway, great progress and awesome movie with a great ending! I loved the missile interception part.

I think the addition of lighting will work a lot better if you implement the buildings and certain other objects on the ground having lights get brighter at the same time as the environment gets darker.

Examples:

- Building windows light up
- Ground units have small lights on them
- The runway has lights

Thanks for the video, good progress again, I'm sure you'll come up with a solution for the water :-)

You are pretty super productive Mr. Sapo.

Yeah, I definitely have to do somethig about the water, its just too plain to go alongwit the rest the terrain, but I'm working on it! Thanks for the comment!

Man you have a monotonous(sp?) voice! Looks good though.

It was about 2 in the morning and I was pretty tired, I promise I'm not usually that boring[grin]

The explosions are one of my favorite parts of the game right now, so you're not alone[grin]

Great movie Sapo! The radar looks awesome and so do the SAMS and FLAK units. Unexpected features FTW!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks, hopefully we'll be able to add lots more of the little unexpected touches! Thanks for the comment!!
