I'd like to announce that I'll be starting another game project.

Quite frankly, I just haven't been enjoying working on this game. I find the work kindof boring, not because it's easy, but I just don't feel like working on this type of game. And since this is a hobby, I want to enjoy my work.

I've realized through working on this that I much rather enjoy working on arcade style games than more complex, story-oriented ones. I've found that there is a difference between the games I like to play, and the ones I like to make. For instance, you'll probably never see me work on another strategy game. I love strategy games, but I absolutely hate making them. However, I love making platformers, shmups, and godwilling one-day, First Person shooters.

And it's not like I'm abandoning the project, nothing is stopping me from picking it up whenever I feel like it. And I probably will complete Earthman awhile from now. However, there are other games that I would rather work on right now.

So yeah, I wanted to explain myself instead of just waiting two days and posting a screenshot of another game[lol](which is what I was origionally gonna do).

I'll be working on what I was origionally going to work on after Stompy's Revenge. It's titled, "The Adventures of Blocky Man".

And to offset all of that, watch this charming little video.

A screenshot will be coming soon...

I'm currently working on the tile engine, but it shouldn't take long to have a screen of Level 1.

In all reality, if you truly don't like what your doing and you feel like you could devote your time with something else, go for it. Expecially since this little game dev adventure is a hobby for most of us, it doesn't matter where the project gets thrown at.

That's exactly the way I figure it.

When I find a project that I'm really interested in, working on it doesn't feel like...well...work. I think this project will prove to be pretty enjoyable.

I agree that sticking to a hobby project you enjoy is best. It's hard to finish something you don't particularly care for.

Does this mean there's a chance of you entering 4E5 this year?

No, I probably won't be entering 4E5 this year, unless Blocky Man invokes emotion in anyone[smile]. I really wish I would've entered 4E4 last year, but I just didn't have the experience back than.
