Warning to anyone interested in playing with D3D10: Apparently, the June SDK states that the D3D10 pieces in it work on Vista Beta2 - and they mean only Vista Beta2. I've spent a couple of hours today trying to get it to install on the July CTP - a build a couple of months newer - and it won't. You need the Beta2 build, number 5384.

The August SDK, my original choice as it's what I use for D3D9, apparently only works on Vista RC1 - which as far as I can tell isn't available to the outside world yet. Doh.

Anyway, at least this time I didn't have to wait 12 hours to download a new Vista image - they've supplied Beta2 on DVD as part of the MSDN subscriptions. It's only the 32-bit build though :(
