I've not really done much development worth talking about. I'm very excited about my new D3D10-based project, but I'm not sure if I can say anything about it yet [wink]

I'm slowly building a D3D10 framework from the ground-up... I suppose I could just copy-n-paste a sample or use DXUT but for the purpose of learning I'm trying to do it all myself [grin]

Anyway, took some pictures of my new toy:

I've yet to find any conclusive evidence suggesting that pointless coloured lights improve performance!

Those three glowing circles in the front are actually temperature/fan read-outs. So I can now easily see how much my CPU hates the D3D10 reference rasterizer [lol]

Proof that the machine does indeed run Vista! Also proof that I know have to sit in a very awkward position at my desk due to no longer having any leg-room.

Let me guess, a HDR rendering demo in D3D10?

Nice toy you have there, but what's the VU meter for? So you can actually see your fans are making too much noise? [smile]

Wrong answer [razz]

Yeah, but it doesn't appear to be connected to anything as it always stays at zero. Means I have to rely on good old fashioned hearing [lol]

I'm used to my main machine (the one on the RHS of the last picture) sounding like a hurricane, so this new one sounds almost silent.

Guess: GeoMIPMapping with the Geom-Shader.

If that's wrong, consider it a request [wink].

Also, cool case [smile].

Welcome back on the Direct3D 10 train. At the moment I am not sure if I am still in or already under it.

Anyway nice system. I hope you have already installed Vista RC1 and the August SDK

I've got Beta-2 and June SDK at the moment, my understanding was that 5472 and August were incompatible; I've just got an email about 5536 being out - I wonder if that'll be any good...

They're wrong and I have proof. More on that tomorrow [wink]

That is also wrong, but if I get the time then I'd be tempted. I love terrain rendering!

Cheers,
