Basic Web Front

I've been a little distracted as of late but I have managed to get my web hosting setup. Picking a web host has to be one of the most subjective things in this industry. There are about a million different possibilities and while there are things like storage and bandwidth usage that are easily measured and compared, there are other things like bandwidth speed and customer support which are not as cut and dried.

Up until now I've been using Gate.com as my email host so I decided to just stick with them for my web hosting. All in all I'm pleased so far. It took about an hour for them to switch my email hosting account over to a web hosting account without screwing up my mail boxes. This in itself is a small miracle considering some of the other hosts I've dealt with in the past. I was able to use some of their online tools to whip up a plain Jane web site in about 30 minutes which gets the basic info across while looking at least not horrible. I will get real work done on the site in the future but it's nice to have at least a temporary site up in such a short time. I'm just glad I didn't have to edit any HTML or deal with uploading files to my fileshare.
