I was thinking about discussing the roots of existen...MORE SCREENSHOTS!:

A little more than halfway through, the level diverges into two main paths.

The first is an underground path:

The other is suspended on brick platforms:

No path is really better than the other. The underground path is a shortcut, but the other path provides the oppertunity for two extra lives.

Level 1 is very near to completion. To be honest, I don't think I'll add the boss right now. I'm actually debating whether this game will have bosses.

I remember SMB3, which I base this game off of partially, which had boss battles. I found those boss battles rather boring, and to be honest, I don't know how to make exciting boss battles in this game. But, I'll see what I can do.

Large areas for boss battles are good (vertically and horizontally)... Allows you to put some space between you and the enemy.

Well, I do have plenty of space in these levels. It's just hard coming up with bosses that will be fun and interesting to fight.

Especially when all you really have to work with is having the player jump on it's head (and, in your case, an object similar to the UFROs.) I'm also contemplating removing the bosses from my SMB3 clone. The bosses in SMB3 were rather bland and lame (and the castle ones were odd looking.)

World 1 is looking good!

Exactly what I was thinking.

Well, it's something I can come back to if I have any ideas, but I won't do it for now.
