Its going to be nice to see a performace boost, I just hope the work you put into it is <= the payout you get from it. The Mac port will definatly open up a market, considering that there isnt much of a Mac game market anyways, but hopefully the new improvements will appeal to the ones that havent already purchased MW.

At this point it's more making ammends than trying to get sales :D

The MW implementation is a skeleton in my closet :D

I could never get MW to run on my system, even with a fresh DX9 dl/install. I'm looking forward to this game and hope it runs on my old tank of a system (P4 1.4, GF3, 512 MB).

BTW, I think we all feel this way about our old code. I'm always psyched about what I'm writing at the time, only to be ashamed by it when I start up another project.

I'm not so much ashamed of my code, just the fact that I spent time writing code where I could have simply used various libraries as I do now.

Given this I doubt I will feel ashamed about the Malathedra code, given than I've written as little as possible IMO :D

Basically for MW he wrote everything from scratch, im Malathedra he uses third party librarys. It saves alot of time. I believe the Flare engine took somewhat close to 2 years while the S3 engine was produced in less then a year. And not to bag on ya Ray, cause you have said it yourself, but im sure that the third party librarys (such as TinyXML) work much better then the custom ones that you had written.

Back onto topic, it would be much more productive to let the skeleton sleep in that closet and worry about performance. The boost that you would have gotten im sure would have been worth it, but you would be the one that would have seen it the most, considering that the consumer cant actuially lift up the hood and look at whats running. Give it an oil change instead of an engine swap :)
