Weapon Select Screen

Yeah, I've been working pretty consistently, but that doesn't mean I've had time to put up entries. I have one rather large thing tonight, as all the smaller stuff should be in a demo before too long. Ok, here we go:

Weapon Select Screen

This is something I thought would be really boring to draw, so I had put off for a while, but i finally decided to get it over with and had some fun in the process.
This screen is the last one before you actually begin a mission, the current planned path being this:
Main-> CampaignMissionSelect-> Briefing-> WeaponSelect-> Briefing

It also happens to be the most complex screen, with more selectable and game-generated text than any other, which led to a reassesment
of our in-game text(which I had to convince Sir Sapo sucked), but hopefully we're on our way with that, too.

Enough talk, as it's late and I'm finding it hard to type right, so here's the screen(Pay special attention to the kickass front-view Partisan Mk.II and ignore all the blank areas that will be filled by Sapo in-game):

Soo tired...
Buenos... Noches...
Previous Entry Side Tracked
Next Entry Crimson Ace

Very nice looking! Reminds me of the SNES smups.

Just a question though, wouldn't the racks usually be grouped like A & D, B & C? Otherwise wouldn't the wings get unbalanced?

Feel free to blast me for ignorance of course [wink]

Cheers,
Lachlan.

Sir Sapo
Nope, you've actually got a point there, so there will be no blasting for techincal accuracy tonight[wink]

You should be ashamed of yourself Mark.....

Yeah, I know, I had it this way in an earlier plan for the screen, when I had an arrow straight from the racks to the select box, and grouping like this made it easier to draw that way. I just didn't change it because I'm trying to avoid any possible confusion, it's just more simple this way.

And it'd take about two seconds to change if you guys really wanted to be all nit-picky, that's a another thing we have to keep in mind[grin].

I'm probably being paranoid about how confused people will get, but the idea of someone quitting Angels 22 because they got confused is akin to puppies dying because I didn't try hard enough, in my mind.

Those poor players/puppies, why did they have to misread the button and quit/run out into the street an get hit by a car? Why?!

Well, sort of.

Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Just a point of notice: I think it appropriate to mention that your rating has hit, yes - that most important of numbers, 1337. Thats right, you are officially leet.

I just went through your entire journal. Gorgeous! My favorite, however, is the sub with the water caustics camo on the upper hull... Mm-mm!

Thanks!

That was the luckiest thing I was on the IRC that night...
