GDNet Gathering and Slide Deck results

Mike Bossy

We had the first GDNet gathering for the Seattle group yesterday and all in all I think it was a success. We had a total of 5 people show which was about 3 more than I originally expected. Everyone seemed to be into it and it was nice to put faces to names. Now the real task is keeping it going. We had some ideas come out of the first meeting so hopefully it'll happen.

My talk in Arizona went better than I hoped. My main concern was not having enough content to fill my hour time slot but that didn't end up being a problem. The acutal slides turned out pretty good too. I stayed with my goal of not having any text on the slides and just went with images instead. Throw in some animations using my sick powerpoint skills and it ended up great. The only real problem with a deck like that is that it's totally useless to look at unless you were at the presentation. I put a few notes in the notes section but not really enough to get the full gist of the presentation.

The Seattle gathering was a good time, here’s to hoping it doesn’t fizzle out. I look forward to more get-togethers and some friendly programming/game design competition.

Oh, and I'm gald to hear the talk at UAT went well.
