Shadow Realm

Level 4, the shadow realm. If there's one thing that Super Mario Brothers taught me, it's that all enemy fortresses HAVE to be made out of bricks.

I'm not happy with the brickwork in the palace (it's a bit flat)...I'll fix it later if I have time.

ON WITH THE SHOW!

This is my first time visiting your journal, and I've got to say that I regret not doing so earlier. [smile]

MoD looks fantastic! I especially like the idea of having the player's confidence level as a visible 'stat', and your attractive art style. I'm looking very forward to playing this one!

(EDIT: Not to mention the, ah, er.. mop. [grin])

Well, I've only been updating for this project for the last 4 or 5 days, so you haven't missed much.

Thanks for the kind words! I've been having a lot of fun putting this whole thing together.

Thanks! While I did a lot of planning before I started anything, it's still been difficult doing the art. I don't really do art very much at all. As a matter of fact, this is some of the first "real" work that I've done. Consequently, it's an amazing struggle to get it done. Thankfully, I've already done the character art, so all I'm doing now are filling in the backgrounds for the levels (Which are already all designed).

Anyway, gotta get back to work now...two levels remaining.

I like how most of your posts lately have come between 4:30 and 6 AM.

EDIT: PS Loving the game so far, can't wait to see the completed version. Great work!

Kind of reminds me a bit of the Amiga classic Another World. I always thought that looked like it was all done with polygons (the sprites, not the backgrounds obviously), although it probably wasn't.

I mean the above as a massive compliment, by the way. Loved that game.
