Blocky World speed run - 1:52!

I had to resist playing Final Fantasy III to work on the new enemy. In the end, I'm glad I did:


As you can see, it's a tank. It doesn't do much yet: simply sitting there until it is killed, but it should be a pretty tough enemy once fully programmed.

The tank will shoot it's cannon, which fires a large laser blast. The laser blast will bounce forward on the ground until it goes offscreen. Once Blocky Man gets close to the tank, it will move backwards to avoid Blocky Man. Blocky Man can kill the tank by jumping on the driver whos head is sticking out of the top.

The tank will be difficult because it will force the player to run after it in order to kill it, which could cause the player to get shot by the tank's cannon.

It sounds great in theory, but we'll see how it works in the actual game.

Awsome. Waiting patiently for the next demo. [wink] Here's an idea: make it so you can drive the tank after the guy is killed. Like those green sock monsters in Mario 3. The problem would be how to make the tank turn around so its facing the right way once you hop in.

That's a really cool idea! People creating their own levels will go crazy with that. I'll see if I can implement it tomorrow.
