It's been a while since I've made a real post. I'm not hiding or staying away on purpose. I took part in the GDNet Seattle 24h game development get together which really wiped me out coding wise so I've had to take a break the last couple of days. I think this is a good thing. I'm pretty sure I needed a mini-vacation from my gamedev work. Now that I'm back at it I'm feeling a lot better.

Current State of the Union:

I am currently blocked on my marketing stuff while I wait for a corporate logo. I have GDNet's very own Salsa doing something for me so I'm excited to see what he comes up with. Now that we're knee deep in the holiday season I've decided to put off contacting publishers until the new year. I'm slammed with real life stuff and could only imagine everyone else is in the same boat. I'd rather start chatting with people when they aren't distracted by their real life too.

In the mean time I have a newly refactored engines just waiting for unit testing so I'm going to dive into that. The goal is to get all of my common objects fully unit tested by the end of the year. After that I'll move onto my Windows and DX specific objects. I know it sounds totally nerdy but I'm excited to by diving back into unit tests.

Glad to see things are still coming along; I feared Gears of War was never going to let you go. Keep the progress coming! [smile]

(Although I don't comment much, beware that I am an regular reader of your journal. Implicit message: Post more often!)

Hi Mike,

Can you post more on how your do your unit tests? I would like to start doing the same for my engine, but am not really sure how to approach the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Jason
